Civil Rights & the 1960s (15min)

Anti-poverty Act of 1960 - the death of the black nuclear family.

The Civil Rights Act (1964) - ended segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination.

Voting Rights Act (1965) - signed into law by Lyndon B Johnson to help African Americans exercise their right to vote, guaranteed by the 15th Amendment.
